During the inspection, our expert electricians in Leeds & Wakefield will explain each step of the process and inform you of any concerns. Thorough testing is essential to guarantee your property meets the latest electrical safety standards.

What is an EICR & Why Do You Need One?

An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) is a comprehensive safety inspection conducted by a qualified electrician. It assesses fixed electrical systems, including:

✅ Wiring & fuse boxes
✅ Light fittings & plug sockets
✅ Electric showers & distribution boards

Unlike PAT testing, an EICR does not include portable appliances like televisions or kitchen appliances unless requested separately.

Once the EICR testing is complete, our electricians provide a detailed report outlining the findings. This report highlights safety recommendations and any hazards that need urgent attention within four weeks.

What Happens If there is an issue during EICR inspection?

After completing your EICR inspection, our electricians will issue a certificate detailing any electrical risks. The report will use the following safety codes:

  • C1 – ‘ Danger present. Risk of injury. Immediate remedial action required.’ – this could mean there are live wires easily accessible to people. Our electricians would work to make this safe as soon as possible, this could mean during the electrics off.
  • C2 – ‘Potentially dangerous – urgent remedial action required.’ This means that there is a risk and needs to be fixed urgently.
  • C3 – ‘Improvement recommended.’ This may be a recommendation due to an old fuse box that needs updating to meet current standards but is currently safe for the property.
  • F1 – ‘ Further investigation required without delay.’ This could be wiring not complying with current regulations which would need to be investigated and upgraded.

If any issues are found, Pyramid Services can provide electrical repairs to ensure compliance and safety.
